With 2023 representing arguably the greatest year for games ever, our contributors and the Bitcast panel created a new series of awards to celebrate the games and developers who make them. The SG Honors will be an annual event that will continue to evolve over time. We hope you enjoy celebrating with us!
For our criteria, we wanted to take into account that not everyone has time (or the want) to finish every eligible game in a category. With that in mind, we’re focusing on “Favorites” rather than “Winners.” Having people vote for a “winner” when they haven’t played and completed all the possibilities just doesn’t sit right with us.
All games must have released in 2023 – the only exception being the selection for “Favorite Live-Service Delivery.” For “Favorite Expansion/DLC”, the expansion itself should have released in 2023.
Lastly, contributors/panelists can simply say “No Opinion” if they don’t feel they played enough to make a selection in a category.
